Heather Brown surf art story of Anuenue

No Rain, No Rainbows!

Kaua'i artist Heather Brown's painting, Anuenue

I first painted Anuenue in 2011. It was the first painting I had done with a rainbow!
I always shied away from painting rainbows as I always felt like they would look to busy in my style of art.
We were living up in Pupukea on the North Shore of Oahu at the time that I originally created the art. We had just gone through almost 2 full weeks of daily heavy rains and we barely even left our property.
Once we got a clear day, we headed down to a favorite beach of ours on the North Shore and it seemed that we watched rainbows come and go for hours. It was at that point that I found the confidence to finally try, and the outcome was Anuenue (Hawaiian for Rainbow)

Anuenue is available as a matted print or framed matted print in multiple sizes as well as a wood panel print
