John Kelly 2011
”I have been a big supporter of the Surfrider Foundation for years and in the past few years I have donated art for the John Kelly Environmental Awards that occur during the Triple Crown Season on The North Shore of Oahu. This years art was inspired by John Kelly’s fathers art that he created for Matson in the 40’s.”
John Kelly was the original recipient of the Surfrider Foundation's Lifetime Achievement category for his environmental crusades on the island of O'ahu. His father, John Melville Kelly was an American painter and printmaker. Matson Navigation Company's fleet of boats have played an important role in Hawaii's economic development. Heather Brown contributes her inspiration of this surf art to John Melville Kelly's art. This picture captures the beauty of the Hawaiian sea, along with Heather Brown's talent.
